Phase 3: INFORMATION GATHERING & ANALYSIS

Information Gathering and Analysis focuses on implementing the plan set out in phase 2, while reflecting on what is being learned and what these learnings mean for stakeholders. In this phase steps are taken to make sure that the research is done with rigour, and done ethically with no harm to anyone. There are two main activities:

GATHER INFORMATION

Collect data within your community according to the method(s) determined in phase 2. If more than one method is used these can be done in parallel or in sequence depending on your research purpose and your timelines.

ANALYZE AND INTERPRET INFORMATION

Organize and summarized the data you collected in such a way that you have the naswers to your main research questions. Make sure to follow standards of quality in analyzing qualitative and/or quantiative data.

Phase 3 in Ann Viv Ansanm

CARREFOUR-FEUILLES youth researchers felt that Phase 3 was the most difficult as well as the most rewarding. At first, it was difficult to get people to really understand and answer the questions during the interviews. However, after a while the researchers became more comfortable with the process of interviewing and were able to make the participants feel more comfortable speaking.
