Information Gathering & Analysis

Phase 3 involves gathering and analyzing data according to the plan you set up. In community-based research there is a feedback loop between the planning and the doing. Sometimes community needs or contexts change requiring the research team to be adaptive and flexibile.

STEPS INCLUDE:​

  1. Gather information according to the plan you created in phase 2.

  2. Consider risks and benefits to individuals and communities.

  3. Meet regularly with the steering committee to reflect on data collection process, ethical or logistical issues or learnings.

  4. Adapt or revisit the plan as necessary.

  5. Analyze and summarize information. This can be an iterative process.
